Are Jump Rope Routines The Best New Cardio Workout

Everybody knows the importance of a good cardio exercise workout. But we also know how boring duplicating the same exercises can be. And evidence shows that your body gets adapted to things you do repeatedly so the benefit eventually begins to dwindle.

Maybe it's time to replace those uninspiring cardio workouts with some jump rope exercises to jump start your metabolic rate back into high gear. Jumping rope seems simple ... and it is. After all kids do it all of the time! But the minute we get to be adults we feel we really should move on to less childish things and as a result some of the best exercises (like skipping rope) are shoved aside and ignored.

But things are starting to change. We've all seen trained athletes jumping rope with seeming ease. We might well have even thought it was kind of a sissy thing for a macho man to do. Trust me, those athletes would never spend their workout time on a "sissy" physical activity if it didn't produce results.

So what on earth is it about a jump rope workout that would cause big strong professional athletes to go back to what is usually thought of as something only kids do? Several things actually.

Jumping rope provides some very important things that athletes choose to focus on. It will assist in improving your coordination, agility and muscle endurance. It can also work to strengthen your entire body, providing most of the major muscle groups in your upper and your lower body a good workout.

It is clear to see why so many at-home exercisers love the jump rope. It is, after all, more likely than not the most inexpensive and portable piece of fitness equipment out there. You can use it inside or outside ... anywhere you have space and no matter what the weather is like. You could take it with you whenever you travel ... whether it is for pleasure or for business.

And a proper jump rope routine offers you up to triple the benefits of many other exercise routines. While it may take a few attempts to get the hang of it, the calories and fat that are generally burned inside of a simple workout routine will certainly be worth the effort.

Jumping rope is a particularly unique alternative to cardiovascular exercise. And most of all you can start out slow and then progress into a regular and rewarding workout ... one which will inexpensively and rather effectively work all of your upper and lower body major muscle groups. What more could you ask for?
